We have played 15 cities so far on the “Playin’ It Cool” tour. The shows have been amazing. One of the guys traveling with me believes Raleigh, North Caroline was the best show yet. We did a two-hour set and the spirit joined us as we performed “Pass Me Over.”
It was a great feeling, but there is one song that consistently – no matter the city – gets the party started – “Sista Big Bones.” People have told me they love that song because it pays homage to big women. I mean, I love women in all sizes. but, just like I tell the fans at the show, just because you’re big doesn’t mean you have to be unhealthy. Small people drop out every day. Fries and chips with every sandwich. hamhocks. It’s important that we pay attention to our health – hypertension, diabetes and heart disease are some of the leading causes of death in the African American community. There are herbs that are good for you and can season your food just like hammocks. I have a foundation – Take A Step To Elevate (TASTE) – and we will be working to educate people on how to eat and live positive and healthy lives. It’s important y’all. Stay tuned for more on TASTE.
Until next time…I’m out on love.
